While a C1 Corvette looks cool, they weren’t nearly as powerful as some would assume. Because of the good looks of the restomod sports car, we’re not sure it really qualifies as a sleeper, but it’s still a wolf wearing C1 clothing.
This C2 Corvette has a Lingenfelter LS7.
One of the big keys to this Corvette’s potency is the supercharged LT4 V8 wedged under the hood. You can hear the whine when the driver drops the hammer, clearly indicating the C1 is far from stock.

Married to that is an eight-speed automatic sourced from a C7 C06 Corvette, just like the engine.
Built by Old Anvil Speed Shop and highlighted by Autotopia LA, this is quite the build. It rides on an Art Morrison chassis, the rear wheels are tubbed, plus there are Wilwood disc brakes, plus Magnaflow mufflers add a mean snarl.
The ’61 Corvette looks beautiful, so we think preserving the original bodylines, only swapping out the wheels was the right choice. Painted with a pearlized color that changes in the light, it presents amazingly well.

Matching the striking exterior is a tastefully done interior by Elegance Auto. Instead of going for something wild, the upholstery, dash, door panels, etc. look close to stock, but with upgraded materials and a little bit finer details. Plus, all the original gauges were kept, the mechanicals being rebuilt, preserving the factory feel.
This C1 Corvette restomod is so powerful, the owner crashed it and the front end had to be rebuilt. But it’s back looking like a show car, a testament to Old Anvil Speed Shop’s capabilities.
See this ride in action by watching the video – it’s a riot.
