The driver of a truck towing a trailer made one critical mistake, resulting in his driving through wet cement on a Tennessee road. All four passenger-side wheels of the pickup and trailer ended up embedded in the soft substance, bringing the driver’s escapade to a sudden halt.
Watch a Jeep come off a trailer and drive itself.
All it took was the pickup driver doing one thing wrong for this to happen. He apparently went around some orange barrels on the road, probably thinking they weren’t there for a good reason. He was wrong and paid the price for that decision, literally.
After his truck and the trailer were pulled out of the wet cement, the driver was slapped with several citations by police. The road crew which had just laid down the fresh cement had to return later and repair the damage.

Likely, the guy saw the lane was blocked off by the barrels but also noted there were zero workers present. The road surface also likely looked good to him, so he go the brilliant idea to just go around the barriers and skip out on the stopped traffic.
The move was probably to help the pickup driver save some time. Instead, he lost plenty of time waiting for his vehicle to be rescued from the muck. And he’s going to lose plenty of money.
We’ve seen people do this sort of think before and they often act smug, like they’ve figured out a shortcut and are so much smarter than everyone else. The reality is going around road barriers isn’t a smart thing to do.
“Even if you don’t see crews actively working in the work zone, there are many reasons why driving around the barrels puts your safety, and the condition of your vehicle, at risk,” said the Tennessee Department of Transportation about the incident.
