In stock form, the Ram TRX with its mighty Hellcat V8 is quite the performance truck. But for some people like builder Brendan Schaub that’s just not enough. The man has built a TRX with 1,300-horsepower, a carbon-fiber widebody kit, and more for plenty of street-legal fun.
This Nissan Patrol build cost the owner $180,000.
What led to such an aggressive build was Schaub rolling his TRX while filming off-roading in the desert. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. The man decided to lean into off-roading, taking lessons and learning more about the hobby.
That in turn led to him transforming another stock Ram TRX into this wild build. Schaub didn’t do the work himself but instead turned to Baily’s Hyperformance, a shop which knows Mopars, having built the world’s fastest Dodge Demon.
With that kind of expertise and a budget of $300,000, the shop went crazy, setting out to make the world’s fastest TRX. Among the extensive modifications is a fully built motor, 1400cc fuel injectors, an upgraded supercharger dialed up to 23 psi, side-exit exhaust, and a racing transmission. The goal was to be putting down 1,000-whp.
The carbon-fiber body panels help with shedding some weight. Both the front and rear bumpers were custom fabricated. Then there’s a King suspension to handle all the extra power when the driver nails it.
For now, this build isn’t setup for off-road runs but instead is more of a street truck. That might sound strange for a TRX, but with how fast this thing is it seems to work.
What’s really amazing is Schaub daily drives this super expensive, super built Ram TRX. He uses it to run errands, take his boys to school, and whatever else. There’s no way he’s walking up to the wrong truck in the parking lot, that’s for sure!
