If you’re not into manga, you might not be aware of the Wangan Midnight series which focuses on car racing and features an infamous Devil Z. The car has been immortalized in video games and other media as well, garnering quite the cult following. Now, someone has built one in real life and the result is interesting.
You’ve got to see this tricycle Camaro build.
We don’t expect everyone will appreciate the aesthetics of this build. It has plenty of custom work done, including the hood, front diffuser, grille, headlights, fenders, side skirts, wing, taillights, and badges. Plus, there are carbon-fiber pieces like the side mirror housings and bumpers.
Plus, the car rolls on some nice Work Meister M1 wheels, 18-inch in the rear and 17-inch in the front for that aggressive staggered look. Hiding behind those are carbon-ceramic brakes, something we’ve never seen on a Datsun 240Z.
Under that custom hood is an L series engine, bored out and with a turbo added. The head has been ported and polished and the valvetrain is also upgraded. With about 30 lbs. of boost, the car is pushing around 666-horsepower, and interesting figure for the Devil Z we hardly find to be a coincidence.
Over that is billet titanium strut braces. The rest of the engine compartment is customized and clean, ready to show off, which it was on display at SEMA.
Speaking of showing off, there are dual nitrous oxide purge valves mounted in the heat extractor vents in the hood. While the nitrous is only used to cool the intercooler, not for injection into the engine, the purge valves are mostly there for dramatic effect.
Finally, the interior is black and red and features plenty of red LED lighting. Like the rest of the car, it’s pretty zany. Not everyone will appreciate this build, but you at least have to admire the craftsmanship which went into it.
