We have mixed emotions about watching a Gen Z YouTuber blow up the engine on his supercharged Ford F-150 while street racing. There’s so much to unpack here, so many emotions and thoughts to go through, and so much about the current state of the hobby contained in this video.
Watch a Shelby GT500’s engine blow up on the interstate.
First off, it’s always great to see the youth getting into playing with cars: tuning them, pushing the limits, etc. We have to applaud this kid and his friends for that. They do it in quite a few videos on their channel, which is great since it can get other youths into the hobby.
However, the videos are so spastic, like an ADHD trip on acid, they’re barely tolerable for anyone with an attention span. They also reek of Gen Z influencer garbage, which we and so many others can’t stand. Yet a lot of kids these days eat this stuff up.
And while it’s cool to see this guy and his buddies get excited about dialing up the performance on the F-150, it’s done for the purpose of street racing. These guys not only engage in the illegal and dangerous practice but upload videos like this bragging about it. That will catch up to them one day and they’ll regret documenting all their escapades on the wrong side of the law.
On top of that, this kid decides to race a Dodge Charger Hellcat that’s supposedly tuned to 1,000-horsepower. That’s not a great plan, but when he nails it trying to keep up, the Ford’s motor blows, and not in the good kind of way.
We guess if this YouTuber’s audience is smart and/or wise, they’ll understand a few good points from the video: street racing is dumb, pushing your newly tuned build so hard is dumb, and YouTubers make money off tragedies like this so emulating them is dumb. We doubt a lot of them will get any of those points, sadly.
