Big Boi, a diamond-selling rapper and songwriter, has been announced as the honorary pace car official for the Ambetter Health 400 set for February 23 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. You likely know the man as a member of the two-man rap group Outkast. With that kind of star power, he might be attracting some new fans to the sport as they’re exposed to it for the first time.
You won’t believe how much an Adam West Batmobile sold for recently.
This means Big Boi himself will be behind the wheel of the pace car at the beginning of the race, guiding the drivers through the pace laps before the 400 miles of hard competition begins. It’s an exciting time for a celebrity who has done plenty of cool things, but nothing quite like this.
What you might not know about Big Boi is he’s a big gearhead. The man owns quite the collection of cars, including a restored 1962 Chevrolet Impala convertible. He owns plenty of modern rides, including a Porsche Panamera, 911 Cabriolet, and Taycan, Cadillac Escalade, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Range Rover, and Bentley Continental GTC.
While the Ambetter Health 400 is the main attraction on the weekend of February 23, Atlanta Motor Speedway will host three NASCAR races in total, one for each of the national touring series. First will be the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Fr8 Racing on February 22. After that on February 22, the Bennett Transportation and Logistics 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series will be held.
Not only has Big Boi enjoyed incredible success as a musician, with a solo career and as a member of the Dungeon Family, including winning seven Grammy Awards that includes album of the year, he also stars in the hit TV show Big RV Remix streaming on Hulu.
