Everything seems to be coming up roses for Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles. Not only does she have a new house in Texas, she’s acquired a new Mercedes G-Wagon to replace her old one.
Mercedes is looking into making a more affordable G-Wagon.
That athlete took to her Instagram account on August 22, sharing a story where she flashed a photo of her old black G-Wagon, then the new white one with a bow on it, saying “out with the old, in with the new.”
It seems she’s sad to see the old luxury rig go while simultaneously feeling excited about having the new one. We can identify with those emotions since one gets attached to a ride but also having a new one is exhilarating.
The new rig looks to be a brand new G-Wagon, so that’s a modern upgrade compared to the other one. After all, the G-Wagon went relatively unchanged for a few decades, with Mercedes doggedly resisting calls to redesign and update the iconic boxy SUV.
Both vehicles are excellent off-roaders, although we don’t know if Biles or her husband plan on venturing off the pavement with the new Mercedes. The old one looks like it has potentially lived only a life of urban/suburban dwelling.
For the photo of the old G-Wagon, Biles is standing by the front wheel. Only her head is taller than the hood, the SUV dwarfing the gymnast big time. But she seemed to love driving the big thing and who can blame her?
Posing with the new one by sitting on the hood, she looks excited to have the new ride. That G-Wagon comes with a brush guard for the grille and headlights that’s painted black to match the rest of the exterior trim.
Biles also shared a quick photo of the new G-Wagon’s interior, which features bold red leather.
