Star NBA player Luka Doncic has quite the car collection, but his reaction to driving one of the few Brabus Rocket 1000 sedans in existence will put a smile on your face. It’s obvious the big man, who says he’s been into cars since he was a kid, was reveling the opportunity.

That journey in the Brabus was filmed for the NBA series Pass the Rock, which digs into certain players’ lives. Obviously, the producers knew the man is a gearhead and had never gotten behind the wheel of the Rocket 1000, so it’s a great way to get his honest reaction.
Doncic calls the 1,000-horsepower sedan his “favorite car in the world.” He said it feels “very strong” and remarked he’s a big fan of the black and red aesthetic for the exterior and interior. But he clarified that the tuned German sedan drives wonderfully.
Brabus uses the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance as the base for the Rocket 1000, turning the Teutonic legend into a true four-door supercar. With some fine tuning of the biturbo 4.5-liter V8 and the joined electric motor, the hybrid also pumps out 1,194 lb.-ft. of torque.
As the most powerful Brabus ever made, production is capped at just 25 units, something Doncic knows off the top of his head. In other words, he is a real fan and isn’t just saying he’s into the car.
The Brabus Rocket 1000 isn’t just exclusive and powerful, the thing truly lives up to its name. It can do 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 196 mph, making it a truly special machine. It’s no wonder Doncic has admired it from a distance.
After driving the car, we wonder if the professional basketball player will do what it takes to add one to his impressive collection.
