The day finally arrived when Lewis Hamilton could officially visit Scuderia Ferrari HP headquarters as its newest star driver. The British Formula One champion showed up in Maranello on January 20 to throngs of fans waiting for his arrival. He was able to meet staff, visit the facilities, and even pose with what he says is his favorite supercar, a Ferrari F40.
Learn why Lewis Hamilton says he signed on with Scuderia Ferrari HP.
But Hamilton wasn’t suited up and ready to drive, instead wearing a suit, tie, and overcoat in proper Italian fashion. However, the racer will be finally climbing behind the wheel of a Ferrari F1 car, the F1-75, the team’s car used in the 2022 season.

Anticipation is sky high as the legendary Lewis Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, teams up with powerhouse team Scuderia Ferrari HP. While nothing is guaranteed, if Hamilton can keep pulling off victories like he has in the recent past, the two should share at least a few prosperous seasons together.
One valid concern which has been brought up before is Hamilton’s age. While he looks to be in excellent health, the racer is 40 and so the question remains how much longer he can perform at peak condition. Obviously, Scuderia Ferrari HP is betting his better years haven’t entirely passed.
For his part, Hamilton has said before he’s excited for the power of “reinvention” he says is taking shape as he transitions to his new F1 team. While the man has always attracted throngs of admirers for his skill behind the wheel, he also has a number of detractors, especially after some Mercedes fans took issue with what they view as an unloyal departure.

The Red Bull F1 Team decided to poke fun at Hamilton’s attire when he visited Maranello, photoshopping a formal jacket on their newest driver, Isack Hadjar, as he stands in front of the team’s headquarters, posting the image as well as the opening line from Hamilton’s social media post about his visit, “Ther are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today is one of those days.”
