A lot of people dream of owning a piece of automotive or motorcycle history, but we just ran across a listing for a land speed motorcycle streamliner built by the great Bob Braverman which might qualify. What’s even more interesting about it is you won’t have to plop down tens or hundreds of thousands to own it, which is probably what’s holding you back from fulfilling that dream.
Learn the history of motorcycle chariot racing.
Bob Braverman started off racing motorcycles, but got into building them and in 1967 became the technical editor for Cycle Guide, a motorcycle magazine based out of Los Angeles. After building quite the reputation for modifying bikes and rising to the position of editor and publisher for Cycle Guide, the man launched his own publication, Cycle Rider.

For his extensive contributions to the hobby, he was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame back in 2000.
The person who’s selling this streamliner says it was built by Braverman in 1969 as a magazine project. We’re guessing that was for Cycle Guide but can’t say for sure. There should be an article about it to verify this is in fact done by the man.
We would definitely do our research before buying this, whether you pay the full $20,000 asking price or negotiate that down.
While the listing says this is a “verified historic” we would want to see the proof and have a third party verify that. After all, it’s not even like the thing comes with a VIN tag, etc.
Like we said, this might be your chance to own a rather interesting and historically significant vehicle without spending a small fortune. It’s the sort of thing that could be loaned to a museum or just proudly displayed in your own private collection.
