A lot of people have fantasized about owning a real DeLorean DMC-12 thanks to the Back to the Future movie franchise. We recently ran across one in great condition listed for sale, which could be a big opportunity for someone, if they have the finances to swing the purchase.
Learn how Trump almost drove the Indy 500 pace car.
That’s right, DeLoreans aren’t exactly cheap these days. With a production run of around 9,000 units, there aren’t exactly DMC-12s sitting with for sale signs on street corners all over the place. And as time has marched on, combined with the movie car status of these unique rides, prices have risen.

This particular one has just over 18,000 miles, according to the ad. We’re hard pressed to find blemishes in the photos, both of the exterior and interior. That might be in part thanks to the low mileage as well as conscientious care.
According to the owner, this 80s icon recently was serviced and has some modern updates installed professionally by DeLorean Motor Company in Huntington Beach, California. Among the new equipment is the alternator, tires, refurbished wheels, starter, and headliner.
Plus, the original floor mats and a car cover are included in the sale.
In other words, it’s probably been babied and that’s great news for the next owner.

But you’re going to pay to own such a ride. This one is advertised at $72,500. If you’re not exclaiming, either you can afford to own such a vehicle or you have zero concept of personal finances. We wouldn’t call this a cheap car.
We also know these things are popular, so taking it to a show or literally anywhere will not only excite gearheads, even average people will want to take pictures and talk to you about the car.
