There’s aren’t too many celebrities who race cars, but we respect the few like Frankie Muniz of Malcom in the Middle fame who do. While he only logged a few NASCAR races in the Craftsman Truck Series this year, the actor has disclosed that he’s going into it full time for 2025.

Speaking with People, Muniz revealed the big move, which is shocking a lot of people, but quite frankly it doesn’t surprise us. After all, once you get bit by the racing bug, it’s just a matter of time. And Muniz has been taking his time, starting his racing career way back in 2004. Frankly, we’re surprised he’s lasted this long.
Now 38, Muniz will be a full-time driver for Reaume Brothers Racing as he sits behind the wheel of the No. 33 F-150 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. But Muniz revealed in his interview NASCAR wasn’t really his top choice, even though he said it was “always… in the back of my mind.”
Instead, Muniz got his start with open wheel racing, like so many others. He had big dreams of climbing the rankings in IndyCar or maybe even breaking into Formula One. If you’re laughing it might be because you had the same aspirations long ago. At least Muniz has the guts to admit it to the world.
Sure, the Craftsman Truck Series is a horse of an entirely different color, but it’s still motorsports. Considering the guy could’ve just stayed in the confines of the pampered Hollywood class, we have to respect his tenacity.
Just last year, Muniz became a member of Ford Performance, allowing him to compete in the Mustang Challenge Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. He’s been in other series in the past, so the guy’s not exactly green, even though we’d be willing to bet there are plenty who would assume he is.
Even with his racing career booming, Muniz said he’s not ruling out acting altogether. So perhaps he’ll find a way to marry the two passions, which could be a lot of fun for everyone.
