Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Robert Quinn is a whole heap of trouble after police say he crashed his Ford F-150, then tried to run away from the scene. However, the ex professional football player was unsuccessful in leaving and now faces at least two criminal charges, with the possibility of more coming.

The crash happened on January 10 at about 2 am in the city of North Charleston, South Carolina, according to a police report obtained by TMZ. When police arrived on the scene of the accident they determined that Quinn called a friend to pick him up and drive him away, presumably to escape consequences.
However, it appears the friend refused to drive away once he picked up the former NFL star, who was injured and bleeding. Police officers say they found Quinn sitting in the friend’s car. When they tried arresting him for attempting to leave the scene of a crash, they claim the retired football player, who wouldn’t supply his name or driver’s license, fought back physically.
In other words, cops had to wrestle the 34-year-old to the ground and cuff him. That couldn’t have been an easy task since Quinn is a big, muscular guy. Officers noted in their report that Quinn’s speech was slurred.
When he was booked into jail, Quinn was hit with two criminal charges, one of them being reckless driving. The report doesn’t state if the other was for driving intoxicated or attempting to flee the scene of an accident.
Likely more details will come out about this case, especially when Quinn has his first court appearance in February.
As TMZ points out, Quinn has been in this type of situation before. Back in August 2023 he was accused of hitting four cars with his Ford F-150 as well as a gate at the entrance to a neighborhood in Summerville, South Carolina. While Quinn was nowhere to be found, his damaged truck was left behind with a partially consumed bottle of alcohol on the floorboard. He also allegedly assaulted a witness before taking off on foot.
