An exotic car dealership owner in the Netherlands was attacked by police when they arrived on the scene of a fire. The chaotic event was caught on the business’ security cameras, then shared online for all to witness.
You won’t believe the price for this cherry SVT Cobra.
As a fire breaks out in a business next door to the dealership, called Graper Automotive, the owner rushes around to save as many valuable assets from potential fire damage as possible. We can’t blame the guy one bit, but apparently when police arrive on the scene, they have a problem with it.
In the footage, we see the dealer get out quite the lineup of pricey rides, including an Audi RS Q8, Ferrari 488 GTB, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Mercedes-AMG GT R, BMW M5 Touring, Audi RS5, Audi RS6, Mercedes G63, and Audi Q7.
As he pulls the cars off the showroom and out of the service bays, he parks them away from the building, hoping it’s enough distance to keep them from igniting.
But as the guy is directing an employee who’s pulling a Ferrari F12 out of the service bays, that’s when police show up and try taking over. It’s funny, because the firefighters didn’t pull attitude with the guy trying to save his cars, or so it appears in the footage.
We’re not really sure what the police had an issue with. Part of it is the language barrier – we don’t exactly speak or understand Dutch. But there’s also a cultural barrier we don’t really understand. Are police officers in the Netherlands really aggressive in situations like this? We couldn’t even begin to say.
Our best guess is the police were trying to save lives, not cars, and so they ordered the dealership owner to get out of the building. When he didn’t comply, one tackled him from behind and they pepper sprayed the guy.
He didn’t die and the cars were saved, so in the end it worked out. But man, that had to have been intense.
