When celebrities show up at car dealerships, they’re often given the royal treatment, however Joey Logano and his wife Brittany decided to go incognito at a Ford dealer recently. It was actually part of an elaborate prank devised by Ford Performance, which had cameras planted to get the salesman’s reaction when Logano started flogging a new Bronco Raptor on a test drive.
This modified Toyota Celica is an automotive sin.
The disguises they were wearing are just so awful, we don’t know what was going through the salesman’s head at the time. Maybe the guy figured they were up to something, maybe he didn’t care because he just wanted to make a sale, or maybe he had no idea who Logano is anyway.
Whatever the deal, the two strolled into the dealership and asked to take a Ford Bronco Raptor for a spin. In case you don’t know, the $90,000 off-road SUV hits hard with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 pumping out 418-horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque.

While that’s not nearly as much as the F-150 Raptor, the 10-speed automatic helps make good use of the output.
That setup is good enough for a 0 to 60 run of 5.6 seconds, which these days is pretty good. Its quarter mile time is a measly 14.4 seconds, but in short bursts it can smoke the tires and scoot.
Logano obviously understands that, because he makes good use of the Bronco Raptor’s performance capabilities in short bursts to scare the salesman who goes along for the test drive.
Before they head out, his wife Brittany offers a prayer, referencing a crash her disguised husband was in the previous month. That helps build a little tension before things get wild.
Not only does Logano let the Ford Bronco Raptor rip, he takes it off-roading at high speeds. The salesman in the middle of everything laments that he’s going to get fired. But at the end of the stunt he suddenly recognizes the NASCAR champion, realizing he’s been pranked.
