We’ve seen some kids on bicycles try doing street takeover type activities and even perform armed robberies, but this is the first time we’ve seen a cyclist gang attack a driver. It happened in Los Angeles recently, with the guy dragged out of his Toyota Corolla and beaten so badly the kids broke his leg. Someone caught part of the vicious attack on camera.
Watch a cyclist get busted for some traffic violations.
The guy filming the ongoing attack as about 30 teenagers rifle through the vehicle, throwing items onto the street, seems dismayed to see it going down. With how wild things are in Los Angeles these days, this sadly doesn’t surprise us. It’s still disturbing, but sadly lawless behavior in the City of Angels seems to be the order of the day.
According to the victim, a week after the attack not one arrest had been made. We wonder if the teens involved will face any consequences.
Perhaps these little criminals are concerned with the environment and so they refuse to use anything with an internal combustion engine, like a dirt bike or car. This could be a new movement in robberies where flash mobs of cyclists surround vehicles, pull out the driver, and take whatever they want.
For good measure, they also trashed the car. You can see in the footage shared by KTLA 5 they stomp on the hood, trunk lid, and windshield. We’ve seen that sort of thing before at street takeovers, which hardly seems like coincidence.
While we’re somewhat joking about this incident, it’s also scary. How they were able to pull the guy out of the Toyota isn’t clear. Keeping your doors locked and windows up is a good way to protect against these types of attack.
In this case, the victim got out of his car after the kids threw a bottle of water at him. We get why he did that, but it was absolutely the wrong move. Once out of the vehicle, you’re vulnerable to attack.
