If you’ve dreamed of owning a real movie car, this might be your chance as a custom 1967 Plymouth Barracuda from the 1972 film Corky readies to cross the auction block. It has a unique look people remember and is attached to some big names, so it would make a memorable addition to any collection.
Check out Fernando Alonso’s impressive car collection.
The muscle car got its unique styling from Harry Badley, with George Barris and Richard “Korky” Korkes building it. Evidently, those two also built the original Batmobile for the Adam West Batman TV show. You might also remember this car from when it appeared on the Knight Rider series, appeared in some 1976 Sears Diehard commercials, or was featured in Mopar Collectors Guide magazine.

In short, it’s a fairly famous car, which in the eyes of some will add to its value. Whether or not that will take effect while this Barracuda is on the auction block remains to be seen.
It still wears the original custom paint job with Tangerine highlights and pinstriping airbrushed on, that tall rear wing, side scoops, modified hood, front spoiler, polished 5-spoke wheels, fuzzy dash cover, and big tach. Richard Petty signed this car since he was in the Corky movie.
Underneath the custom looks is a numbers-matching 273ci V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission. Fender-well headers have been bolted up, feeing into those rather obvious polished side pipes.

To sweeten the deal further, the seller is including documentation with this movie ar, including photos, press books, lobby cards, a bulletin from Korky, and a movie poster.
The one thing we can see working against this Plymouth once it’s on the block is people not really recognizing it. After all, Corky wasn’t exactly a timeless classic that’s still cherished today. We can almost guarantee most people under the age of 50 have never even heard of the movie.
