There are plenty of Chevy C10 trucks with lots of patina on them, lowered and with an exhaust, but that aren’t too fast. Then there’s this wolf in sheep’s clothing which looks like a crappy truck when in fact it’s really a street performance build.
Check out another Chevy C10 sleeper build.
Of course, just seeing the side-exit exhaust and looking at how the truck sits, someone who knows will be able to tell right away this isn’t just some crappy old farm truck. In fact, with the patina still on it, those who know will be able to tell it’s purposely been kept as a bit of a sleeper.
The tall deck 468ci LSX used in this build is the same engine this guy put in his trophy truck fielded for the 2009 Baja 1000. That truck finished the grueling endurance race, which is a huge accomplishment. And it’s pushing about 700-horsepower in its current tune.
Popping the hood not only reveals the engine, which is a little disguised by the harmless-looking air filter and valve covers, it also exposes the carbon-fiber tubs for the front wheels. That’s a clear sign the patina on the body is intentional, not the result of someone not caring.
Behind the LSX is a Tick Performance T56, which feeds a floating 9-inch rear axle. The truck sits on a Roadster Shop chassis and there are six-piston Wilwood manual brakes.
The rear wheels also have carbon-fiber tubs, but those are disguised by covers with coated in Line-X, helping them to blend in with the old dented payload.
The interior does have new leather seats, but they’re rugged looking enough to not raise too much suspicion, keeping that sleeper appearance. You have to see this truck in action, because this wolf in sheep’s clothing sure has a bite, so watch the video.
