A lot of gearheads have enjoyed Cars and Coffee events for years, but a new Christian Cars and Coffee movement adds a bit of a twist to the meets. While you still get all kinds of muscle cars, trucks, hotrods, and the like at the shows, there’s a little bit of a different tone while keeping things familiar enough that it still feels like a regular car meet.
Vigilantes are blocking speed enforcement cameras in New York.
YouTube channel Big 10 Garage gives us a good look at one event that’s held at Rock Point Church once a month in Queen Creek, Arizona. Known simply as Queen Creek Cars and Coffee, the event is in the church’s parking lot and they sell not only coffee but breakfast to attendees.
All the classic cars as well as modern rides lined up and some of the owners’ stories about their ride is beautifully documented with excellent cinematography, making the video which is only 11 minutes long entertaining.
Beyond that, there are these types of Cars and Coffee meets being held at churches all over the place as this movement in growing. While the cars are the big draw, as is the chance to rub shoulders with other gearheads and form friendships, that honestly can be had at any meet.
These churches are obviously hoping as people get comfortable in the parking lot or even walking inside to order a coffee, they might also swing by for a service now and then. That’s not even a sneaky intention, they’re pretty upfront about that, and who can blame them?
But another attraction to these Christian Cars and Coffee is they often filter out the riff raff. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, go to more car meets and you’ll learn. If you do, then you understand why those guys aren’t going to want to hang out in a church parking lot. That alone can make these events even more desirable to attend.
We’ll see just how much steam this movement picks up. For now it seems to be in the early stages, with events here and there, so we’ll see how this progresses over time.
