There’s talk of Charles Leclerc following in the footsteps of Scuderia Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton in a way that’s a bit surprising. We’re not talking about the young Formula One driver copying the old champion’s driving style or even his habits at the track.
Donald Trump almost paced the Indy 500.
Instead, we’re talking about Leclerc switching teams to shake things up and enjoy a new challenge, similar to what Hamilton did for this season. Depending on your view of the team and the two drivers, that might make your laugh, cry, or even a bit of both.
Of course, there are some big differences between Hamilton departing Mercedes and Leclerc kissing off Ferrari. For starters, the British driver stuck with his team for 12 years, winning seven World Drivers’ Championships during that time.

In comparison, Leclerc has only been with Ferrari since 2019. But the Monegasque driver already has switched teams once, leaving Sauber for Ferrari after a successful start in F1. Maybe it’s time for another switch?
With Hamilton obviously struggling in his new team, and news of Leclerc possibly looking to jump ship, some people are wondering if Scuderia Ferrari has some big problems. Because all of this is based on rumors, we couldn’t say for sure.
But Hamilton’s tense radio exchanges in races this season does give us a reason to step back and wonder.
Both Leclerc and Hamilton have been critical of the SF-25 racecar in their own ways. Hamilton even recently told Sky Sports that he has little hope of things in F1 improving, especially with the cars, saying, “I don’t think it’s going in the right direction, personally.”
There’s been talk of Hamilton leaving Ferrari behind as well. Could the team possibly lose both of its drivers at once? Or is this all just rumor based on nothing solid?
