There’s a lot to love about a 1963 Lincoln Continental with the suicide doors, long body, and just a road presence like no other. What’s even better is to see one that’s modified so it sits nice and low, plus has plenty of power. However, this one will rile the Lincoln/Ford purists, so beware.
This car would blend right in with Vanilla Ice’s collection.
Yes, you guess it: this has been LS swapped. We know so many Ford/Lincoln enthusiasts hate that and wish if people wanted a modern engine they would go with a crate Coyote V8. But there are reasons why people like the owner of this Continental go with the LS.
While the engine has been built with better internals, the owner says it’s not for racing. After all, the Continental isn’t exactly a performance ride. However, it’s pushing around 450-horsepower at the crank, so it’s great for cruising around town.
It looks good rolling, thanks to the 20-inch Raceline wheels, whitewall tires, and an adjustable air ride suspension so it doesn’t get hung up on speed bumps or driveway skirts. The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior, thanks in part to the sumptuous red leather. The owner really paid attention to details and that always makes a huge difference.
Another thing that might make some people upset is the fact this wasn’t some trashed ’63 Lincoln Continental with no powertrain, etc. The guy says it was a clean, one-owner vehicle when he got it, a true gem.
What’s especially impressive about this build is it was done by the guy and his friend in the guy’s garage. It looks like the kind of work you see from some of the big shops out there, proving that you can build your dream ride on your own, if you’re willing to learn and take your time.
Check out this Lincoln in the video – it’s so gorgeous you’ll be mesmerized.
