People can do some rather interesting things with valuable cars, like how this 1977 Porsche 911S Targa was left sitting outside with two tarps over it for 20 years. Why the previous owner did that isn’t clear because he’s passed on, but the man’s son decided to unload it and the new owner wants to get it back not only running but also looking great.
Watch a Porsche Taycan get thoroughly detailed.
While the tarps did help keep some grime off the classic car, they didn’t keep everything out. The bumpers and rocker panels especially got dirty while underneath the cover, perhaps from rain hitting the surrounding dirt and splashing it up onto the paint.
Normal wear is present on the Porsche, with plastic parts looking rather oxidized, as does the paint. The paint is also flecking off at different points and there’s orange peel as well as other blemishes in many spots.
As for the interior, it’s absolutely disgusting, with filth abounding on every surface, including some mold. And the engine compartment is just a theater of corrosion. This is the kind of vehicle most normies would look at and say it’s junk.
That’s what makes us gearheads different. But to clean up a ride like this you need more than just some soap, wheel cleaner, and wax. That’s why the new owner hired AMMO NYC for the job, considering the professional detailer has a history of bringing out the best from some of the worst conditions.
The guy’s knowledge immediately comes pouring out, with him noting that the flecking paint is an aftermarket spray job, not from the factory, which is why it didn’t hold up. He gets to work, starting with the chassis, then detailing every square inch of this Porsche outside and in.
Watching the process is satisfying and the results are amazing, which is what we’ve come to expect from AMMO NYC.
