Why so many motorcycle riders think they don’t have to pull over for cops, not to mention follow other laws, is a mystery to us. This guy in Florida was riding his bike on I-95 with tags that expired in 2018 but when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper tried pulling him over, he took off.

We’ve known quite a few people who firmly believe a motorcycle will always beat a car in a race. That’s simply not true. While some bikes are quick, few have the gearing to really go toe-to-toe with police pursuit vehicles at higher speeds.
Not only that, most riders lack the training and skills to really roast the fuzz, which is a good thing considering. This guy obviously doesn’t have the chops for it. He’s not even wearing a helmet and is dressed in shorts and a short-sleeve shirt while speeding and crossing into oncoming traffic.
Had he wrecked out at speed, the man would’ve been in a world of hurt. And that would’ve been all for expired tags and speeding, two offenses which would’ve cost him a few hundred bucks. How is that even worth it?
FHP had to get alongside and in front of the guy, forcing him to slow down rather aggressively before he came to a halt. While the guy puts his hands in the air to supposedly surrender, it’s anyone’s guess if he was actually going to go quietly.
So it’s really no surprise that a trooper snuck up behind him and like a linebacker looking to sack the quarterback tackled the suspect hard, knocking him off the motorcycle. That ensured the guy didn’t tear off again, something we’ve seen happen repeatedly when cops don’t do this sort of thing.
We expect some people will cry about damage to the motorcycle or the possibility of the rider getting injured, ignoring his crazy riding to get out of two small tickets. Somehow for those people everything is the fault of police.
