Forget The Raptor R: Hennessey Reveals The Venom 800 Super Truck

Estimated read time 2 min read

Hennessey is always working on the next performance-smashing project, but its latest one, an 800-horsepower supercharged Ford F-150 is really something. The Texas-based shop says it’s a great alternative to the Raptor R and we’re hard pressed to disagree with that assessment.

Watch a Cybertruck and Hennessey TRX MAMMOTH 1000 drag race.

After all, the claimed 0-60 mph time on the Hennessey Venom 800 is a staggering 3.4 seconds. It does the quarter mile in a smoking 11.7 seconds. Just imagine what it would be like to take this thing on some high-speed desert trails.

To squeeze that kind of performance out of a Coyote-powered F-150, Hennessey bolts a 3.0-liter supercharger and an air-to-water intercooler along with high-flow air induction, high-flow fuel injection, high-flow cat-back, plus its proprietary engine management calibration. Not only does that result in 800-bhp, torque is a mighty 757 lb.-ft.

Keeping all that power in check are upgraded six-pot Brembo brakes. After all, what rockets forward with explosive speed also needs to come to a halt in a hurry lest crashing is part of the plan.

One of the most important elements for any off-road vehicle is the suspension. Hennessey addresses this need with a BDS six-inch suspension lift, Fox coilovers, and upgraded rear shocks. Everything literally rides on 35-inch tires wrapped around 20-inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels.

Adding protection against obstacles as well as that aggressive flair are Venom front and rear steel bumpers. LED lights integrated into the front bumper help with driver forward visibility in dark conditions far away from streetlights.

To help shed some weight and look cool, Hennssey swaps out the Ford grille for a carbon-fiber version featuring the shop’s name. Automatic fold-out running boards offer convenience yet prevent getting hung up on trail obstacles. Plus, the fender and tailgate badges are illuminated, adding further to the wow factor on this truck.

Production is limited to just 250 units, so we expect the Hennessey Venom 800 won’t be available for long.
