Lizzy Musi’s Bonnie Camaro Heads To Auction

Estimated read time 2 min read

Drag racer Lizzy Musi tragically lost her battle with cancer at the age of 33 not too long ago, leaving behind quite the legacy. Now as her loved ones move forward, the time has come for them to part ways with Bonnie, the NPK Camaro so many associate with Musi.

This is some of the sketchiest drag racing around.

That’s right, Bonnie is headed for the auction block with one lucky person getting to call her theirs. We expect there to be considerable interest in the drag racer, although it’s not entirely clear just how that will translate dollar amount-wise.

Originally unveiled in 2021, the 1969 Camaro Musi lovingly named Bonnie was built by Robert Hayes. Nobody knew it at the time, but the car would be piloted by Musi to three wins in Street Outlaws No Prep Kings, squeezing past a competitive field.

In other words, Bonnie is the real deal. And with the car in front of a huge audience repeatedly, she’s a bit of a celebrity. For someone it will be the closest they will ever get to Musi after her death.

But Bonnie won’t be coming with its engine, instead being offered as a rolling chassis. It’s a legal NPK car, so that will appeal to the right people. It’s set up for nitrous, not a blower, so all you need to do is drop in your own powertrain and drivetrain, etc. to have a nice setup for racing.

Or the new owner could leave Bonnie as a rolling chassis, put it on consignment at a museum, and let the public enjoy her while learning about Musi’s career that was so tragically cut short.

It’s not every day a car like this crosses the auction block. If you want to check it out, Iron Horse Auction is the one offering it to the public in an online auction which runs from October 1-8. Check out the lot listing yourself here.
